Excel Concrete Coating’s Process For Applying Basement Coatings

Our Process:

• Step 1 : Prepare the concrete surface 
  This starts with grinding the concrete surface, utilizing our Heppa Vacuum system to minimize the amount of dust in the air. We remove all stains and surface imperfections. This ensures every square inch of the floor is properly prepared which profiles the substrate and opens the pours of the concrete to ensure proper adhesion of our product.
• Step 2- Repair Cracks and Divots
  All cracks and divots are f filled with our repair mender. Once applied and the repair mender has dried, the excess will be ground off so that the floor is completely smooth as possible. 
• Step 3- Vacuum
  We vacuum the concrete surface to remove all dust and prepare for the polyurea base coat.
• Step 4- Lay the Polyurea Basecoat
  We lay our Polyurea basecoat next to seal the concrete and add the first protective layer.
• Step5- Broadcast Colored Chip
  Next, we broadcast your flake of choice.
• Step 6- Remove excess chip, scrape smooth and vacuum
  Removing the excess flakes allows your floor to maintain a neat, clean look before we apply the topcoat.
• Step 7- Apply Clear Polyaspartic Top Coat
  Lastly, we apply our 100% Polyaspartic top coat, which is much stronger than standard epoxy.
